From a wartime minesweeper to the play-thing of an Indian prince, the RV PAX has sailed the world for decades hosting royalty, mariners and scientists.
Years of neglect have rendered the ship unseaworthy and today, it sits idle in Henderson.
But a group of navy veterans is working to restore the navel vessel to its former glory using the skills they learned at sea.
They are transforming the ship into a floating ‘men’s shed’ – a place for veterans to come and tinker, talk or just take in the ocean view.
The men rely solely on donated equipment and manpower, but they are determined to see the RV PAX sail again.
